Virginia Tech Economic Development

CAPTECH is a unique initiative for assisting in creating high-tech businesses through educational training, mentoring and development, and matching businesses to funding sources.

CAPTECH is a collaborative effort developed in partnership between the NewVa Corridor Technology Council and Virginia Tech's Department of Economic Development

Entrepreneurship is the very symbol of business tenacity and achievement. Entrepreneurs were the pioneers of today’s business successes. Their sense of opportunity, their sense of drive to innovate, and their capacity for accomplishment have become the standard by which free enterprise is now measured. Indeed, an entrepreneurial revolution has taken hold throughout the world. And Virginia is no exception, this movement has continued to create jobs when other companies have downsized or failed.  This Entrepreneurial revolution will be as powerful to this century as the Industrial Revolution was to the twentieth century. Entrepreneurial firms will continue to be critical contributors to economic growth through their leadership, management, innovation, research and development effectiveness, job creation, competitiveness, productivity, and formation of new industries. It is our goal to create an environment where entrepreneurs can grow and prosper.
